What is a super visa?

A super visa is a multi-entry temporary resident visa that allows you to visit your children and grandchildren for up to two years in a single entry.

Who are eligible to apply

  • Parents of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • Grandparents of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident

What do you need

  • Medical insurance from a Canadian insurance company valid for a minimum of one year from the day you enter Canada with a coverage of at least $100,000
  • Immigration medical examination
  • Apply from outside of Canada

What your child or grandchild needs to support your application

  • Notice of assessment (NOA) or T4/T1 for the most recent tax year 
  • Employment insurance stubs 
  • Employment letter with the salary and the date of hiring
  • Bank statements

  • Proof that you have ties to your home country
  • Family and finances in home country
  • Purpose of visit
  • Political and economic stability of your home country
